Welcome to Khani & Auerbach
UPDATE ON OUR OFFICE DUE TO CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)
Clients, Colleagues and Friends of Khani & Auerbach,
As we continue to navigate the unusual and unfamiliar territory surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, our world is morphing minute-by-minute. COVID-19 is definetly TOP OF MIND for the entire world and recognize that the resulting “Stay at Home” orders have disrupted our normal course of business. Despite the disruption, Khani & Auerbach continues to be committed to having awareness about the stress and impact of this crisis, as it evolves, all while maintaining support and consideration for our clients and customers. Christopher Krebs, the director of the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), recently designated “real estate services” as part of the nation’s “critical infrastructure” and various governmental entities have also designated our services as “essential”. Because we are considered an Essential Service, we are open. Take note that some of our staff works remotely and some are in the office, but we are doing our best to provide the same professional service you expect from Khani & Auerbach. In an effort to remain open for those who need our services, we have implemented the following measures, effective immediately:
- All in-person client meetings have been postponed and resumption of these meetings are based on government entities removing the “Shelter at Home/Be Safer at Home” orders;
- Client Consultations and Meetings will be conducted via telephone or virtual meeting only during this time;
- For Transactions Settlements and Closings, we will address them on a case-by-case basis to determine the best possible way to execute these documents, as we are capable of conducting these transactions via Remote Online Notarization (RON), in an effort to avoid face-to-face interactions (please note that most lenders are still not ready to move in this direction). WE ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDING THAT YOU SPEAK WITH US BEFORE YOU SIGN A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OR SALE OF REAL PROPERTY. IF YOU ARE SEEKING TO BORROW MONEY FOR THE PURCHASE, BE SURE TO CHECK WITH THE LENDER BEFORE YOU BEGIN A NEW RELATIONSHIP TO DETERMINE IF THEY ARE CAPABLE OF CONDUCTING AN E-CLOSING TRANSACTION AND WILL ACCEPT USING RON; and
- Communications with our office may be delayed during this time, but we will return all phone calls and emails in a timely manner (as we always have).
Our office is implementing these “temporary” procedures to prevent the spread of this virus. Please contact our office with any questions. We extend our sincerest wishes for you and your families to be well and stay healthy. If we all do our part, (wash your hands often, don’t touch your face, maintain social distancing and stay home), we can beat this thing! Your friends at Khani & Auerbach
